We always pride ourselves on having some great guest speakers at our Business Networking Events.
At our last Hatch End fortnightly lunch group held at Black Pepper Restaurant. Ken Walton the
co-founder of John Charcoal mortgage brokers  gave a really Interesting talk
by sharing his business life journey from the start of his motgage career.

John Charcoal was a company that over twenty years ago  had adverts that always appeared on
the front page of the Sunday Times with a huge response for their range of products from their
advertising.

The company also became an authority on mortgage products. In fact Ken introduced the first
'Traker Mortgage' to the UK (which originated in the USA). He also invented the 'Fixed Rate
Mortgage' too.

This guy is a true heavyweight in experience. In fact if you remember the two guys with the
bowler hats or more commonly known as 'Bradford & Bingley' a large buiding society that
bought John Charcoal in 2000 for a mere One Hundred and Two Million Pounds. Ken is
even now  involved with  the company he once set up.

Whilst a guest speaker slot is normally twenty minutes. A captivated SB alliance audience
were asking him so many questions it went on well into our lunch. A few golden nuggets
that came out from this millionaire, was it is really important to be in the right place
at the right time and how important the contacts you make can give you some amazing
opportnities. You also have to see them to make them work.
